An American Airlines flight was unable to take off after its tires burst, evacuating passengers.

A routine trip to America was about to end in tragedy. American Airlines Flight AA 590 was preparing to take off from Tampa, Florida, about 3,000 kilometers to Phoenix, Arizona, at 7:30 a.m. local time, when it was canceled midway after its tires burst and caught fire. The event occurred three days after the North American Department of Justice ordered the airline to pay compensation to the relatives of 346 victims who died on 737 MAX flights between 2018 and 2019.

In this case, a video shot near Tampa International Airport shows the sequence: an American Airlines Boeing 737 gains speed and accelerates, but soon its tires are covered in smoke, so the plane stops its life at the end of the runway. All in exactly one minute. According to reports, one of the tires caught fire, which then spread to other parts of the landing gear and other tires exploded.

All 174 passengers and six crew members were evacuated from the plane. And no one was hurt. According to local media outlet TampaHoy, one of the passengers noted what happened. “We boarded the ship without any problems, we got ready to taxi on the runway, and the ship started cruising down the runway with full power. Suddenly, we felt like we were on a bumpy road to the end. It looked like the plane had hit a big pothole in the road” commented Sherry Blankenship.
