CNN anchor Allison Camerota reveals husband’s death after 22-year relationship

CNN political commentator Alisyn Camerota announced Friday that her husband of 22 years has died after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Camerota, who shared that she would have celebrated her 23rd wedding anniversary this month, wrote in an Instagram post that her partner Tim Lewis died on July 27, two years after he was diagnosed with the disease.

Camerota praised Lewis for “handling his devastating diagnosis with such humour, humility and courage.” She captioned a photo from their wedding day, writing: “He was an incredible father, husband, friend and role model, and the rest of us are trying to follow in his footsteps.”

Camerota and Luis, both 58, share three children together.

“My children and I are still trying to figure ourselves out,” she wrote. “Tim has given us so much strength and stability and we intend to try to emulate those qualities.”

Lewis was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Yale University and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, according to Connecticut Post.

He subsequently went on to have a long and successful career in private equity and business consulting.

Camerota said Luis also devoted a large part of his life to giving back to his community, “trying to make life easier for the people around him.” In his tribute, Camerota said the family has created finance To help other families suffering from cancer.

“I feel so fortunate to have had such a deep, committed and loving partnership throughout our time together,” she added.
