TikToker named Avalon (@totalllyavalon) He deeply regretted the chicken after purchasing KFC. Although she wasn’t happy with the taste of her meal, that wasn’t her main annoyance.

The Australian-based user was amazed at how much she was charged for each two-piece soft serve. As a result, she shared her frustration in a viral TikTok video that has garnered more than 93,000 views. Claiming that the restaurant “cheated” her, Avalon aired her complaints and other users criticized KFC in the comments section of her clip.

Giving surrender

“KFC counts your sore days,” she says. The video then cuts to her, still standing outside, holding a single piece of fried chicken to the camera.

“That’s apparently $4. I just got $8 for two original bids,” she says, criticizing the cost of Kentucky’s bids.

“Like, are you taking the test now? I’m shocked,” she continues. Angry and bewildered by the company’s pricing structure, Avalon turns off her video, shaking her head. She records herself walking down the street while chewing on the $4 tender.

As for the tender taste, the Avalon didn’t give a really nice review. “Dry, warm, and the size of my finger. I wanted tender not a hard lump, that’s a joke,” she wrote in the caption of the video.

KFC prices rise

In recent years, the cost of fast food has risen significantly, exceeding the average inflation rate. Nation News Now Reports since 2014 indicate a 60% jump in fast food costs. In contrast, inflation in all other industries during the same period was approximately half that.

Avalon isn’t the only one who has gone viral for criticizing KFC’s prices. The Daily Dot previously covered the startled response of one KFC customer upon discovering the cost of a 16-piece item. Then there was the DoorDash customer who shelled out $70 to have her meal delivered from the chain.

Real simple He also wrote that KFC is one of the most expensive fast food restaurants in America. “Average menu price is $14.45” means KFC shoppers will likely pay more per visit compared to other restaurants. However, the outlet admits that many KFC offerings are intended for sharing. Also, despite its hefty price, it’s still not the most affordable fast food option. This distinction is held by Wendy’s, Real simple He said.

TikTokers shared the disappointment

Many viewers reported that KFC had also let them down in recent years. One of them said the size of the chicken fingers wasn’t the only problem. “Or you get potato chips and they are half full…” they wrote.

Another noted that KFC’s commitment to providing quality items had declined. “Does anyone else remember when Kentucky tenders were huge, crunchy, and irregularly shaped?” They asked. “They were great, and now they’re less than half that size.”

One TikToker said McDonald’s was more expensive than KFC. They said: “Mccas worst hamburger 2.00 cheeseburger 4.60 2.60 for cheesesteak”.

Criticism of KFC’s other menu offerings started piling up in the comments section: “Have you seen their board? 6 cheap dinner rolls with some popcorn chicken and they’re able to charge $17.45 for it… I’ve given up on the KFC I used to go to every day.”

To highlight how outrageously high food prices at KFC are, one user compared it to another dining experience. “You’re right. I can go to the local bar and get a steak, chips and salad for less than a KFC meal.”
