If Hasson Reddick turns down a new or revised deal, it will happen with a new agency representing him. Or with Riddick representing himself.
According to multiple reports, the CAA has parted ways with Riddick (a polite way of saying “fired”). Because one report comes from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and it is Represented by the Civil Aviation AuthorityIt’s safe to say it’s accurate.
This must have happened recently. The NFLPA website still shows Tory Dandy and Jimmy Sexton as Reddick’s agents of record. When a player and agency go their separate ways (usually at the player’s initiative), the association immediately updates the website to show that the player is not represented.
There is a five-day waiting period after termination papers are submitted to the NFLPA. In this case, the CAA will undoubtedly concede it, because they are the ones who want to make the change.
So Reddick is in the market for a new agency. The fact that this happened strongly suggests that Riddick consistently refused to implement their advice.
Reddick has lost millions in non-forgivable preseason fines, forfeiture of his forfeitable signing bonus, and missed game checks. On the last point alone, Redick will have given up $4.75 million, an average of $791,666 per week.
He’s nearing the deadline of not being able to play at all this year, which would affect his entire contract through 2025.
