New Street Fighter 6 news coming from San Diego Comic Con today where new costumes were revealed for the first five members of the roster: Ryu, Chun-Li, Jamie, Guile and Luke.
Ryu and Chun both exploded with looks of nostalgia as they wore familiar clothes from their younger years. Keep going to see what these last threads look like.
Ryu wears his Street Fighter 4 costume with an iconic white uniform, red headband and red gloves. In fact, Ryu has only recently pulled off this look, dressing his master Kasaya Gouken in his standard Street Fighter 6 look. We can also see that Ryu is back in his clean-shaven face for this outfit.
Chun-Li also returns to her classic Street Fighter 2 look, bringing her spike bracelets back to her wrist in preparation for the fight. Presenters also noted during the panel that Chun has a classic parody animation with a hit box attached to it, reminiscent of her days in Street Fighter 3 Third Strike.
Similar to other world warriors, Guile gets rid of his new clothes and puts on his old-school Air Force uniform. Committee members note that his secondary color in this outfit is similar to his classic Champion Edition brown.
Luke wears boots in his secondary costume (surely delighting fans on social media who have noticed the newcomer’s barefoot nature) and throws on a yellow jacket, back hat, and dark blue pants.
Jamie is Luke’s rival in SF6, so his alternate threads are a bit similar. He’s also wearing a yellow jacket, but that’s more of a blazer jacket that doesn’t quite reach his waist. The developers were particularly proud of Jamie’s design, noting the following when it was introduced.
“Pay close attention to the chain Jimmy is wearing, we’ve put a lot of attention into the details of that. He’s so flashy, so patient. I hope you’ll take a look at all of them and take notice when he’s available.”
