After the public voted for their favorite artist, one artist won a $1 million prize in the NBC talent competition hosted by Terry Crews.

“I went into every part of the show with no expectations,” Goodall told us. “I went out there and left it all on stage. I sang a song, and whatever happened, happened. I went out there, every time, and enjoyed and absorbed everything I learned here in the show.”

Goodall’s biggest support throughout this experience was his wife, who accompanied him through the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.

Goodall remembers his wife always saying to him, ‘You know you’re going to make it to the end. If we pick the right song, you’re going to make it to the end.’ “And every round, we jumped the barrier until I finally won, which is still unbelievable… I don’t think it’s sunk in yet.”

The prize money “will change our lives,” Goodall said, noting that “whatever happens after the show, I’m sure it will just be the icing on the cake.”

“We’ll have a nice little house and we’ll be able to retire, maybe retire in style and see what other opportunities come up,” he added.

Goodall said he wanted his story to inspire people to never give up on their dreams.remembering that he had passed the test for AGT In 2009 but did not succeed.

“I’ve been a fan of the show for years,” he said. “I tried and I didn’t give up, it was like it was meant to happen, it was meant to happen. And here I am at my age, and I’m back doing it.”
