Are You Ready For A Big Weekend in Brighton?! June 30th – July 2nd!
Our favourite time of the week is just around the corner and there is heaps to do! Big annual events like Paddle Around The Pier, fresh club nights and a van bringing you the best of Swedish cider… the choice is yours! Here is a little selection of all the amazing events that will take over Brighton this weekend! Fingers crossed the weather won’t let us down!
Friday – Voltage Bassline Takeover @ Volks
If you love bassline, then this is the place for you to be tonight. Volks will welcome an entire line-up of Voltage Brighton DJs for a night out with the bassline factor! Line-up includes Dr Cryptic, Bushbaby and Distinkt. For not so avid bassline fans, there will be a separate mixed music floor.
Doors open at 11 pm at The Volks Nightclub. Cheaper entry between 11 pm and 12 am.
Friday – Neighbourhood Part III @ Patterns
Running every Friday in the Patterns basement, the Neighbourhood club night will team up with 24hr Garage Girls who will be bringing their very own decor and finest UK Garage DJ line-up.
Doors open at 11 pm tonight at Patterns.
Saturday – Family get-together @ Brighton Dome Cafe
To mark the end of this year’s Refugee Week, Brighton Dome is organising a family gathering day at its nearby cafe-bar. Connect is a free event that will feature various workshops and activities for all ages, live music and food provided by the Sussex Syrian community. It is aimed to bring together families from all communities and will start with a little welcome parade for refugees.
The parade starts at 10 am in Pelham Square Gardens, Trafalgar Street. Activities and workshops will take place from 11 am to 4 pm at the Brighton Dome cafe.
Saturday – Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing @ Raystede Animal Centre
Specialising in putting on stage the works of William Shakespeare, theatre company Bowler Crab will be at the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare this weekend with their production of “Much Ado About Nothing”. Parts of the ticket prices will go to the animal centre.
The performance starts at 7.30 pm on Saturday at the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, The Broyle, BN8 5AJ Ringmer. Show is indoors. Tickets are on sale here.
Saturday – A taste of Sweden @ Jubilee Square
Having started its 38-day UK Lagom Tour, the Rekorderlig sampling vehicle will make a stop in Brighton tomorrow, giving you the chance to try different flavours of the Swedish cider and emerge into Scandinavian culture.
Spot the van at Jubilee Square between 12 pm and 8 pm.
Saturday – The Little Festival @ The Arch
Clubbing or festival? The answer is both! The Little Festival is a touring party event mixing everything you expect from a club night with an authentic festival atmosphere. Expect a seven-hour show with great techno and house DJs, confetti cannons and a laser show.
Starts on Saturday at 10 pm at The Arch. Tickets should be purchased in advance.
Saturday & Sunday – Paddle Round the Pier
This weekend Brighton’s seafront will once more get really busy when this year’s Paddle Round The Pier Beach Festival hits the city, featuring loads of fun beachside and water activities, a paddle village and free live music.
Head down to Hove Lawns to check out where to find the coolest activities and have a stroll through the paddle village.
Sunday – Get muddy to fight cancer @ Stanmer Park
Crawl through the mud, jump over obstacles and have fun! The Pretty Muddy 5K Run is back in Brighton’s Stanmer Park calling girls and women to race through the 5K obstacle and help raise funds for cancer research!
The races start at 11.45 am and 12 pm. Participants are asked to arrive 1 hour in advance. Meeting point is in the middle of Stanmer Park.
Sunday – Time to swap @ The Hope & Ruin
Grab all your unwanted clothes and swap against your new favourite outfits while DJ Henry W-P will play you his mix of Psych, Britpop, Baggy and Post-Punk.
The swap shop will be open from 1 pm to 7 pm on Sunday at The Hope & Ruin.
Sunday – Summer Fiesta @ Hove Park
Get the whole family together and head out to Hove Park on Sunday for this year’s Summer Fiesta. While children can enjoy free workshops, parents can kick back in the beauty and wellness area or watch a number of samba and other dance performances. Circus PaZaz will also be on the premises running three shows throughout the day.
The Summer Fiesta starts at 11 am on Sunday and ends at 5 pm.
