Another Banksy artwork appeared on the shutters of London Zoo on Tuesday, showing a gorilla lifting a shutter to release a number of animals. It is the ninth work Banksy has posted on his website. Shown in the UK capital In recent days, this will be the final work in the latest series, Banksy’s team confirmed to CBS News partner BBC News.
Images of animals drawn by Banksy have been discovered every morning since August 5, showing elephants, monkeys, goats, a wolf, swans and other creatures.
The final artwork was posted on Banksy’s social media page on Tuesday morning, and there was no comment.
Overnight, London Zoo posted a photo of the artwork with the caption: “Is the (big) cat out of the bag? Have our animals helped put smiles on people’s faces across London this week?”
Over the past few days, Banksy artwork has been popping up all over London, from the walls of fish and chip shops to public transport bridges. One work, featuring a wolf painted on a satellite dish, appears to have been stolen almost immediately after it was discovered.
Images of the artworks were posted to Banksy’s social media accounts at roughly the same time each day. None of the posts included any captions.
