Taylor Swift lessons Tour of the ages It appears the film is being applied to Beyoncé’s new performances. This rubs some people the wrong way.
AMC has published a list of “helpful tips” for prospective movie audiences, designed to set expectations. Already, the list is attracting skeptical eyes from social media, with users wondering whether the same standards apply to other concert films.
“We want to see your gorgeous outfit!” The website statement said. “Feel free to take selfies and group shots to celebrate the occasion and the beautiful sets you created, but please do not take photos or record during the film screening. Be sure to post your photos on social media using #RENAISSANCETHEFILM.
But the message got less enthusiastic from there.
“If parts of your clothing are likely to prevent other viewers from being visible on screen, please remove them when the movie starts (e.g., head coverings, wings, etc.) and please keep in mind that masks (except standard face masks are used expressly for health and safety) (reasons) are not allowed.
He continues, “You know the words, you know the choreography – sing and dance your heart out, but please respect each other’s space with the stage equipment. Do not dance on the seats or prevent other guests from watching, walking safely, or exiting the auditorium.”
AMC’s message advises, “Get comfortable before it gets crazy. Save your energy once you step into a RENAISSANCE showroom. We want to make sure other AMC guests enjoy their moviegoing experience as much as you do.”
Go to the bathroom before the movie, message ends. Tickets are non-refundable.
Some observers were not amused.
“Did they put the same warnings before Swift’s concert film?” asked user Mike Giffen.
“They wonder why people don’t go to theaters anymore,” said user Punk’s Dead. “Give the people what they want. When we released the greatest movie ever, Punk’s Dead people were singing and dancing. It was great.”
IAmHerr also stepped in. “Police work can’t stop, won’t stop, won’t stop. ‘Help, the movie industry is suffering.’ Buy our tickets. No, not you. The person behind you.”
