Multi-hyphenate Donald Glover announced on social media on Friday that he is canceling the remainder of his Childish Gambino tour dates due to a health issue.
In a Share on XThe musician, writer, actor, director and producer said he was hospitalized after his show in New Orleans due to his illness.
“After evaluation, it became clear that I would not be performing that night, and after further testing, I was unable to perform the rest of the American tour in the required time,” he wrote. “As of now, I have surgery scheduled and need time to recover.”
The news comes a month after Glover shared a post On X He needed to postpone the tour to “focus” on his physical health.
Glover did not reveal additional information about his specific health concerns in his statement on Friday. Glover’s spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Grammy Award-winning “This Is America” singer described the decision to cancel tour dates in North America, the UK and Europe as “difficult.” But, he wrote, “My path to recovery is something I must confront seriously.”
He added that all tickets will be refunded.
Fans were surprised and excited to see Childish Gambino on stage again after Glover announced a new tour in May.
