Someone who works at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh really wanted McDonald’s on Wednesday night — or so it seemed.

A DoorDash delivery driver wandered onto the court with a McDonald’s food and drink bag just minutes into the second half of Duquesne’s men’s basketball game against Loyola Chicago on Tuesday night.

Although we’re still left with more questions than answers, the current consensus is that the game was the backdrop for social media content on YouTube or TikToker.

The delivery man seemed lost, and after looking around the yard for a bit, suddenly decided to walk right behind the toys. This alarmed the referee and briefly delayed the match.

The whole situation was absurd. Watch only:

According to Abby Schnable in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, someone at the video board had ordered and received food, allowing the game to continue. While the explanation still raised some questions about Duquesne’s safety quality, it was later refuted.

Austin Hansen, assistant director of athletics for Loyola Chicago, shared new footage of the incident Wednesday night, adding that the “delivery person” was wearing a fake microphone and faked the scene for Internet leverage.

“I didn’t order a McDonald’s, even though it was delivered steps from the camera position,” Hansen wrote.

The footage shows the referee eventually guiding the prankster into the stands with McDonald still in his hands.

Duquesne beat Loyola Chicago 72-58, who snapped a two-game losing skid for the Dukes. For what it’s worth, the team laughed it off when they thought there was a serious rendition involved.

Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot said, “I haven’t really seen it, it’s crazy. Via Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I saw the video after the game. Our guys were dying laughing [the locker room]. The man had a job to do. He did his job well.”
