Jalen Hurts won’t say how he was injured.
But he’s more than happy to say how it is He didn’t do that He gets hurt.
He was not hurt while running.
“I don’t know that I’ve ever been beaten before as a runner,” Hurts said Wednesday. “It all comes from inside the pocket, where the illusion or narrative is that you run the ball more (you’re more likely to get hurt).” This is not always the case. not here.”
The pain was clearly less than 100 percent when he was moving Sunday in the Eagles’ big, nationally televised win over the Dolphins at the Linc, but he still had one of his best games of the season with 279 receiving yards and a 74 percent completion percentage. , two TDs returned and another rushed and one INT for a touchdown.
Hurts hasn’t talked much about the injury, but Nick Sirianni said he expects Hurts to play at Washington on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles did not list “pain” at all on their injury report Wednesday. Since the Eagles had a trial run, the injury report is an estimate of how a player will fit into full practice.
“We’re confident he’ll be ready to go, but anytime these guys are in pain and things like that (I’m not sure). We expect him to go, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
“I think he’s feeling better. Hopefully there will be no restrictions on Sunday.”
In other words, there was no way he would miss this game.
Hurts is known to be reticent to talk about injuries or even acknowledge them. But he said the knee affected him on Sunday.
“Getting beaten is just trying to find ways to win,” he said. “I don’t want to make it any bigger than it is. I think that’s something that comes with every player in this league. Things happen and you find ways to overcome them.”
This is the third year in a row that Hurts has suffered a major injury. In 2021, he injured his ankle in a Week 12 loss to the Giants, and although he only missed one game, he never got close to 100 percent after that and needed offseason surgery.
Last year, Hurts suffered a shoulder sprain in a Week 15 game against the Bears and missed two games. Since mid-2021, the Eagles
Since Week 13 of the 2021 season, the Eagles are 23-2 when Hurts plays and 0-3 when he doesn’t play.
He knows everyone in the organization is looking for him to play every week no matter what he’s going through.
“I don’t think I always realize the role and impact I have in that,” he said. “Because I’m going to go out there and literally try to be the best version of myself and lift up the people around me. And that’s just in my spirit and who I am.”
“It’s not something I really want to talk about because…the show is going to go on. So we all go out there and fight for each other. We play hard for each other. We all have the same common goal. And so we kind of keep it at that.”
