Fortnitemares 2024 skins, start and end dates, challenges, and a weird chainsaw

The Fortnite Halloween party always adds some spooky weapons and items. This year does the same, though it also adds some new weapons to the loot pool, some of the most powerful items in the game yet. Here are all the Fortnitemares loot you can expect to find during the event:

• Wood gun
• Pumpkin launcher
• Witch’s broom
• Boom Billy
• Saw

Fortnitemares veterans will be familiar with these first three, although the last two are new to everyone. Boom Billy sends Billy The Puppet, from Saw, on a tricycle towards the enemy before he explodes with an explosion. If you hear his twisted laugh, run away quickly.

Meanwhile, Chainsaw also comes into the game, with attack and traversal abilities. You can rush it towards the enemy, or push it towards the ground, which will propel you forward. It looks like it could join the list of great traversal items in the community, like the Shockwave Hammer, Kinetic Blade, and Spider-Man’s Web Slingers.

While it’s not exactly a loot item, there’s also a new island event that you’ll see during Fortnitemares. Interact with Billy The Puppet TV across different places on the island and you’ll be given a target to eliminate among players who have also chosen the challenge.

Both players will be wearing bear masks from Saw, and if neither player (or team) can eliminate their target before the timer runs out, well, they’ll both explode. Those who win the showdown will receive a Boom Billy and a Witch Broom, among other random loot.
