Gisele Bündchen's mother, Fania Nonnenmacher, has died at the age of 75.
Brazilian outlet GZH reports She died on Sunday in hospital after a battle with cancer.
According to the outlet, she was admitted to Moinhos de Viento Hospital in Porto Alegre, Brazil, for treatment.
Nonnenmacher was the mother of six girls: Rafaela, Graziella, Gabriella, and Raquel, along with Giselle and her twin sister Patricia.
A rep for the former Victoria's Secret model did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment.
The model originally wanted to become a professional volleyball player, but in 1993 her mother enrolled her and her sisters Patricia and Gabriella in a modeling course to teach them posture and give them some confidence.
After the course, the girls were rewarded with a trip to Rio de Janeiro, where Gisele was discovered by Elite Model Management in a shopping mall.
Earlier this month, the stunning Brazilian, 43, spoke about her parents while promoting her upcoming cookbook titled Nutrition: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul.
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, Gisele – who shares son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivienne, 11, with ex-husband Tom Brady – revealed she overhauled her diet after witnessing her mother and father's health issues.
“I want to live as long as I can and feel the best I can, but to do that, I have to make decisions today,” she said.
“You can have all the money in the world. If you don't have your health, there's no way you can buy it back.”
Earlier this month, the mother-of-two kicked in the new year by sharing a rare snapshot of her entire family in an adorable set of photos.
