The prestigious France Football award is one of the highest awards a professional footballer can win in their career. For most of the modern era, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have had a firm grip on the award and almost swapped it back and forth.

Here are the latest 15 men’s Ballon d’Or winners:

The only two players to win the award in the last 15 years, whose names are not mentioned by Messi or Ronaldo, are Karim Benzema and Luka Modric. Vinicius Junior is the favorite to win this year after a fantastic season with Real Madrid, although he faces stiff competition from teammate Jude Bellingham and Manchester City’s Rodri.

Viewers in the US can watch the event on Paramount+ and CBS Golazo. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m. International viewers can also follow L’Equipe’s YouTube channel where there will likely be red carpet celebrations and more.
