Police have confirmed the death of American singer and member of the Jackson 5. It happened in Gallup on Sunday, September 15. The Gallup Police Department said an officer was alerted to a person in need of medical attention in the 700 block of U.S. Highway 491, near American Heritage Plaza. There, a man, identified as 70-year-old Toriano “Tito” Jackson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was taken to the hospital and later died. The Office of the Medical Examiner has been asked to investigate. Jackson’s body is expected to be transported to Albuquerque, an OMI spokesperson said. An autopsy will be performed by OMI to try to determine the cause of death. Investigators are actively investigating his death and interviewing witnesses. Physical and electronic records are also being reviewed, according to Gallup police.
