(CNN) Kevin Costner’s attorney denies the actor made things difficult on the set of his hit show Paramount, “Yellowstone”.
in A story posted by Puck on Tuesday, Attorney Marty Singer dismissed a report that Costner had cut short the time he would have liked to shoot the series on location in Montana.
“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of Season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie,” Singer told Buck. “It is absurd – and anyone who suggests it should not be believed for a second.”
The story follows A.J Delivery time It reported earlier this month that Costner, who plays patriarch John Dutton in the series, may be leaving due to issues surrounding “disagreements over filming schedules.”
“We have no news to report,” Paramount said in a statement to CNN on time.
“Kevin Costner is a huge part of Yellowstone and we hope that will be the case for a long time to come,” the statement continued. “Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we’re always working on franchise expansions of this amazing world he’s built. Matthew McConaughey is an exceptional talent we’d love to partner with.”
Deadline reported that Sheridan, the show’s creator and showrunner, is working with Paramount to close the series in its current format and launch a franchise that would continue the story of the Dutton family and potentially star Matthew McConaughey.
According to the new story published by Puck, “For the fifth season — initially planned to be 10 episodes, but expanded to 16 episodes that were to be shot in two strips, 5A and 5B — Costner negotiated short shooting windows.” The change would likely complicate production on the series, due to its reliance on off-scale exterior shots.
“As anyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware,” Singer told Buck, “he’s incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone above and beyond to ensure it’s a success.”
“As previously mentioned, Kevin has been a key component to the success of our Yellowstone series, and we hope that will continue to be the case going forward,” a Paramount spokesperson said.
CNN has reached out to representatives for Costner and Paramount for comment.
