The competition was narrowed down to the top 12, then the top eight, with contestants participating in a question-and-answer session on topics discussed at the recent G20 summit. Peshkova, a 23-year-old law student and model, highlighted the importance of addressing issues related to women's healthcare, especially breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation.
The competition showcased India's vibrant culture, traditions, arts, crafts and textiles to a global audience, with participants dressed in elaborate outfits and dancing to Bollywood tunes.
Although Indian Sini Shetty reached the quarter-finals, she did not win the title. It is worth noting that six Indian women, including Rita Faria, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mukhi, Priyanka Chopra, and Manushi Chhillar, have previously won the Miss World title. (Photo: Reuters)
The 71st Miss World pageant was co-hosted by Bollywood film director Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 Megan Young from the Philippines. During the preliminary rounds of the competition, the participants showcased their skills in fitness, beauty, talent, and public speaking. Some secured “fast track” spots within the top 40, announced at the start of the event. (Photo: Reuters)
