Meghan Markle has been removed from the photo the royal family shared to celebrate Prince Harry’s 40th birthday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were photographed at DogPatch during their overseas trip to Dublin, Ireland, in 2018 while they were still members of the royal family.
Sunday, Official Royal Family X The account shared the photo but apparently cropped Markle, 43, to show Harry, only 40.
The message read: “We wish The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!”
In the photo, Harry smiles as he sits at a table wearing a grey jacket and a white shirt open at the front.
Markle was wearing a black jacket and white shirt in the original photo.
“The press agency presented the photo in this way,” a source told the Washington Post.
Harry’s estranged family have not made any public statements about his birthday since the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.
They did not celebrate Markle’s birthday on August 4.
Reports said Harry is expected to receive phone calls from some of his family members on his birthday.
“Harry will be contacted by his family,” a royal source exclusively told The Post. “It is very likely that Charles and Kate will call Harry to wish him well on his birthday.”
However, the source claimed that Harry will not hear anything from his estranged older brother, Prince William.
The source, who knows the brothers personally, said the Prince of Wales, 42, would likely not be in contact with Harry “given everything that has happened.”
Harry’s birthday this year reportedly included a huge cash bonus of $8.5 million, thanks to arrangements made by his late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
Harry and his wife have been estranged from their relatives since they left the royal family and moved to California in 2020.
The couple then launched a series of all-out attacks on the palace in their bombshell TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, their six-part Netflix documentary, and Harry’s memoir, Spare.
But Grant Harrold — who served as King Charles’ personal butler for seven years — recently told The Washington Post that he believes a royal meeting involving Harry is possible within the next year or so.
“I firmly believe that things will get better over time because time is the cure,” Harold told The Post. “How long that will take? Who knows, but I would like to imagine that in a year or so we will see them get together and be in each other’s company.”
“I have no doubt that one day we will see the four of them, Harry, William, Kate and Meghan, laughing and behaving as they once did – the Fantastic Four, as they were called. Anything is possible,” he added.
