Mickie James vacates the Impact Knockouts Championship

Mickie James relinquished the Knockouts Championship.

If not, the new champion will be decided in a singles match between Grace and Porazzo.

Mickie James asked for time to speak to the world. She discussed how Last Rodeo was about proving she still belonged with the best in Impact. James knows there will come a time when a younger, hungrier, faster, or even better competitor will knock her off the top of the mountain. Passing the torch would be an honor.

What James can’t afford is catching up to the tooth. She feels like she can take on the world when she wrestles in front of a crowd. Once James cools off backstage, the aches and pains remind her that she’s not a 20-year-old anymore. This is what makes it so difficult to advertise.

James was not medically cleared by the doctors to compete insurgency. She must do what is appropriate for work, appropriate for effect, and appropriate for the locker room. As a woman of her word, Champion has officially relinquished the Knockouts moniker.

This ends the fifth knockout tournament of James’ reign in 90 days.
