
More than 1,000 flights within, to and from the United States were canceled on Tuesday as fatal Blizzard swept parts of the south.
The storm was centered in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, making the area hardest hit by travel woes, with 742 flights canceled at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, according to online flight tracking. FlightAware.
The area is home to both American Airlines And Southwest Airlines And as of Tuesday morning, at least 512 Southwest flights are listed as cancelled, along with 427 American Airlines flights. 263 at least Southwest flights have been delayed, while 329 American Airlines flights are listed as delayed, according to FlightAware.

One person has died in Austin after a weather-related multiple-vehicle collision, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services.
“Nearly all of the collisions that we respond to now are weather-related,” a spokesperson told NBC News. “Basically, all roads and elevated bridges in the Austin and Travis County area are frozen.”
The ice storm is expected to be “long and big” and “continue to affect a large area from the southern plains to the Tennessee Valley,” according to the National Weather Service.
She said the “dangerous” ice storm is expected to continue until at least early Thursday, bringing cold air, freezing rain and sleet, along with travel chaos and delays.
The weather service said “widespread accumulation of more than 0.25″ of total ice is likely from western Texas to western Tennessee, with local areas receiving up to 0.75”. It warned that this amount of ice could lead to hazardous travel conditions. In addition to damage to trees and power outages scattered in the most affected areas.
Ice buildup about a half inch or higher is also possible from west Texas to Arkansas, which the weather service said could lead to “treacherous” travel conditions.
Blizzard warnings, winter storm warnings and winter weather warnings were issued in affected areas, warning travelers to check road conditions before heading anywhere and to drive with extreme caution.
