Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to a booking report released Saturday.
The senior Mahomes was charged with DWI and booked into the Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, according to the report.
Mahomes, 53, was released Sunday, prison records show. He posted a $10,000 surety bond.
Representatives for the elder Mahomes did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
He was also arrested for DWI in 2018. The following year, Mahomes Sr. was sentenced to 40 days in jail that will be served on weekends, according to court records in Smith County, Texas.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on February 11.
Mahomes was Sr. A.J A pitcher in the major leagues For 11 seasons, he spent the first half of his career with the Minnesota Twins before moving on to other teams.
