You have a prison!

A 22-year-old postal worker and a 75-year-old man believed to be a street vendor were arrested after a confrontation at Canal and Mulberry Streets in lower Manhattan Saturday morning, police said.

The postal worker told the responding policemen that the older citizen had scored her in the head with a stick, and she retaliated.

The unidentified fighters were taken into custody after the incident at 10:10 am. Charges were still pending, a ministry spokesperson said late Saturday afternoon.

Police said the postal worker refused medical attention at the scene and there was no immediate word on the condition of the 75-year-old.

Canal Street residents did not know what triggered the outrage, but several, like gift shop employee Kamal, said they saw the elderly man sprawled on the sidewalk in the aftermath.

A woman selling fruit alleged that the postal worker pushed the man to the ground.

Other vendors on the premises said the 75-year-old is a regular street vendor selling masks and counterfeit items on Canal Street.

Another employee of the gift shop alleged that the postal worker and the 75-year-old were “yelling at each other” until the police arrived and took them into custody.
