A report says the impending coronation of King Charles has erupted into chaos after a slew of issues derailed plans for the big day just three weeks earlier.
In addition to the method of running rehearsals within the planned deadline, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s responsiveness to the invitation — or lack thereof — has caused planning delays, a source reports. said the mirror.
As royal aides slide into a messy “race against time” ahead of the historic May 6 event in London’s Westminster Abbey, sources say a series of high-profile cases have yet to be settled.
“To be honest, a very complete mess,” an insider of the royal family told the outlet. “There is a plan, it’s supposed to be a blueprint for how the day will go, but things change every day which causes a huge headache.”
Another source told the outlet that the planning stages were “down to the wire.”
“Of course this is a huge event and the important point is that everyone is moving in the right direction,” the source said.
“The King and Queen want it to be perfect as does everyone involved and that is why everything is being done to make it happen.”
It is reported that the aides are still awaiting a response to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s invitations for the big day, for which the invitations were sent out weeks ago.
Among the myriad issues looming for staff to sort out before the big day includes the all-important seating plan, which sources say has yet to be finalized due to aides not knowing whether the exiled royals will attend.
Meghan and Harry have not revealed if they are planning a trip across the Atlantic from their home in Montecito, California, to London.
If they leave, the exiled royals will face “cold shoulder” from senior members of the royal family, according to a report.
Other concerns are said to include confusion about tiaras, and whether or not female members of the royal family will wear them at a time when the company is looking to cut spending.
Sources also told the outlet that the King and Queen Camilla were practicing their roles in a “model abbey” that was built for them inside Buckingham Palace in the run-up to the big day.
The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.
