S Del Beatos – Troy (Via Troy Public Relations): Pettus has the Patriots vibe with his versatility in the secondary, having played multiple positions including at safety and in the slot, but his special teams prowess may be the most direct path for him to a roster spot. He had 61 consecutive starts at Troy and played over 4,000 combined snaps.
CB Mickey Victor – Alabama State (Via Gerald Huggins): Victor played 19 games at Alabama after previous stints at Ventura College and UNLV, where he had three interceptions. His size is interesting at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds because he brings a tall body type to the position group.
CB Caleb Ford Dement – Texas State (Via Mark Daniels): On the other end of the spectrum is Ford-Dement, a smaller but very athletic cornerback. He could have the potential to open, as there is some uncertainty with Myles Bryant not currently in the mix.
Ed John Morgan III – Arkansas (Via Doug Cayde): Morgan spent five years at Pitt before spending a final year with Arkansas, where he made 64 career starts. A short but powerful LB, Morgan will need to excel on special teams.
LB Jett Bush – Texas (via Jett Bush IG): Likewise, Bush is another undersized but athletic linebacker with special teams potential. He appeared in 58 games during his career and has 43 receiving yards from six kickers to his name.
LB Guntry Hunter – Georgia State (Via Mike Reese): Hunter has better size than other UDFA second-tier defenders, but their motor skills may not be as good. He participated in 26 matches during his career, and participated in 52 matches. Again, special teams is likely where Hunter needs to make an impact.
