Lisa Barlow, her Vida Tequila brand, and Lux Marketing are facing a new lawsuit from her ex-boyfriend and business partner Bart Carlson.
Carlson filed a lawsuit against the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star on Wednesday, claiming he loaned Barlow, Vida and Lux a total of $410,842.36 between May 2010 and February 2018. Per TMZ.
He also said that when Barlow first came to him for financial help, he willingly loaned her money, but the couple never agreed on a repayment schedule because of their close relationship.
Over the years, he said he asked for a refund, but Bravolebrity reportedly told him that neither she nor any of her companies could pay him back.
The 49-year-old reality TV personality responded to the lawsuit on Wednesday, saying she was “deeply saddened” about her legal situation.
“Bart Carlson was once a business partner in a restaurant in Park City, and I believe he is a friend. I am deeply saddened that after nine years of our restaurant business he has decided to claim that I owe him money,” she said in a statement to Page Six.
“To be very clear, the allegation that I owe Bart or his company money is false. I pay my bills and obligations, and that’s what I always do. I look forward to the truth coming out and intend to hold Bart fully responsible for any harm this personal attack may cause to me or “For my company.”
The upcoming new season of “RHOSLC” is shaping up to be a dramatic season for the mother of two.
Two months before this lawsuit was unveiled, it was reported that Barlow’s “RHOSLC” co-star, Mary Cosby, called Barlow’s 12-year-old son, Henry, the “R” word during a “crazy fight” between the two women.
Sources close to the production told Page Six that other cast members — including returning stars Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Meredith Marks, and Angie Katsanivas — were upset by Cosby’s role in the exchange.
“The entire cast was… absolutely stunned,” the insider explained of the cast’s reaction to Cosby’s outburst.
While a second source said Barlow was initially upset with Cosby for using the slur against their youngest son, another source told the outlet that they have since “adjusted the situation” at the time of the report and were filming together for the cast’s trip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
