Featuring a much more NHL look Monday night, the Flyers earned a 3-1 preseason win over the Bruins at Wells Fargo Center.

Cam Atkinson, Travis Konecny ​​and Joel Farabee provided goals for the Flyers.

Morgan Frost had two assists, while Owen Tippett, Sean Couturier and Ronnie Attard each had one assist.

The Flyers improved to 2-2-1 in the preseason. They still have one more game to play before the regular season opener on October 12.

After evaluating the first four exhibition games from the top alongside general manager Danny Briere, head coach John Tortorella returned to the bench.

He turns 29 this month and will have to clear waivers if he is sent to the Phantoms. The $5 million annual cap hit over the next two seasons could keep clubs away from trying to claim him.

• Atkinson tied the game early in the second period when he backhanded the ball into the net.

Couturier’s assist was his first point in three preseason games. It looked better and better.

“I thought it was probably the best I’ve looked since camp,” Tortorella said. “He made some good plays. Just what he makes, just those little plays that people don’t think about, he’s very powerful that way.”
