Sam Smith, 30, kept his gender-defying style in check as they celebrated the release of their new album Gloria at London’s 34 Mayfair restaurant with a group of friends on Friday night.

The unholy fashionista wore a stunning graphic printed long silk dress, depicting a woman in glamorous red heels, with a black velvet neckline.

Sam wore an oversized knee-length black blazer with white stitching over the dress, giving the outfit a more edgy look.

They paired the outfit with black patent leather heeled pumps with scalloped sides that revealed their calves.

The Sky Fall singer finished off the ensemble by wearing sexy black stockings and black Ray Ban sunglasses.

They accessorized the outfit with a pearl necklace, silver dangle earrings, and matching rings.

Gloria, the singer’s fourth studio album, was released on Friday and is the first LP to be released in three years.

The outing comes after Sam revealed on Friday that they spat in the street after coming out as non-binary.

The Grammy winner changed his gender pronouns to they/them in 2019, and said they wish they had done it sooner, but also opened up about the shocking backlash.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, the pop star revealed that while they had no issues with their new gender identity in their personal lives, they had been harassed on the streets of England since they came out.

They explained: ‘I think all the only negatives in the struggle have been in my public life and work. And just the amount of hate and tragedy that came my way was exhausting.

‘It was in the ****** news. Someone spat on me in the street. This is madness. What I find hard is that if this happens to me and I’m famous, I’m a pop star, can you imagine what other kids feel like, like gay kids?

It is very sad that we are in 2023 and it is still happening. It’s stressful, especially in England.

Sam added, “We really have two teams. My personal life and then my public life. And in my personal life, there’s not one negative.”

My family can contact me. They have always done that. But they communicate with me now in a better way. My love for my life became better than her. I feel love. I feel comfortable in my own skin, but I wear what I want to wear.

“Since I changed my pronouns, I have felt like coming home.” I wish I knew what words were when I was in school, because I would have known in school. Because that’s who I am and it’s always been me.

Sam also recently said it was a “shame” that no women were nominated for Best Artist at the BRIT Awards.

The Too Good at Goodbyes singer was one of the first musicians to advocate for the ceremony to be “reflective” which made the organizers the first major UK awards to abolish gender categories.

But Sam still believes there is “a long way to go” after this year’s shortlist for the prestigious award included only male nominees.

Sam said there were a lot more female artists who should have made the shortlist, rather than Harry Styles, Stormzy, George Ezra, Central C and Fred Again left to compete for the award.

Asked which women should be shortlisted, they said: ‘Kat Burns. Anne Marie. Florence Welch. There are so many amazing female talents out there in the UK – you have to be on that list.

They said: “Things are moving forward, but it is clear that it has not yet been achieved. From seeing that [best artist] Existing, there is still a long way to go.’

It’s very frustrating. Seems like it should be easy to do.
