Charlie Woods has a long hill to climb on the second and final day of the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club.
Woods, the 15-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods, tees off for the final round of the 36-hole stroke play qualifying round on Tuesday at 1:48 p.m. on the South Course. Woods finished the first day tied for 242nd. After shooting 82-over-par during his first round on the North Course on Wednesday, he plays in a three-way tie with 18-year-old Alabama golfer Chase Case, who shot 70-over-par on Monday, and 18-year-old Baylor golfer Davis Ovard, who finished with 73-over-par on Monday.

Woods needs to climb inside the cut line for a top-64 score from two days of stroke play to reach the championship match, which will be played through the championship match on Saturday. Woods will play on the South Course, which has served as Oakland Hills’ home for major championships for more than 100 years. It was renovated from 2019 to 2021 and is 500 yards longer than the North Course.
Tiger is expected to be in attendance as a fan for the second day in a row after walking with the crowd behind his son during the first round on Monday. Parents are not allowed to carry their children’s golf clubs during the U.S. Junior Championship.

Hole 10, Par 4
On Woods’ first shot of the second round, he hits his tee shot into the middle of the fairway on the 482-yard 10th hole. On his second shot, he hits an iron and lands on the green for a point. Woods’ tee shot ends just left of the hole, which he hits for a point.

Hole 11, Par 4
Woods uses his hybrid on the 431-yard 11th hole and drives the ball to the left of the fairway bunkers, and Woods goes about 100 yards to the green. On the second shot, Woods uses his iron and lands on the front side of the green, about 50 feet from the hole. Woods almost scores a one-putt but his shot rolls over the left edge two feet from the hole, giving him a one-putt to score a one-putt.

Hole 12, Par 5
Woods pulls his putter to the 570-yard 12th hole and lands in the right rough. Woods hits his iron into the left rough about 90 yards from the green. Woods’ third putt lands on the green about 25 feet from the hole. Woods leaves his putt about four feet away, and his birdie putt remains left, causing him to fall for a foul.

Hole 13, Par 3
Woods’ first shot on the 183-yard 13th hole, which he plays with an iron, was a short distance from the hole in a bunker on the back left side of the green. Woods hit the ball onto the green about six feet from the hole. Woods hit a par putt.

Hole 14, Par 4
Woods hits a big putt on the 496-yard 14th hole, hitting a five-foot putt into the left rough, then play was stopped due to bad weather. Play was halted for an hour and 45 minutes and then resumed. Woods’ short putt came about 40 yards from the green. Woods’s small putt rolled across the green and entered the back rough two feet away. The next putt landed on the green two feet from the hole. Woods hit a short putt but Woods doubled.

Hole 15, Par 4
Woods hit his tee shot on the 398-yard par-4 15th hole into the right rough. Woods pulled out his iron for a second shot, and the ball landed on the green but bounced to the left side of the first hole. The short putt required Woods to be in an awkward position with his hands in front of the ball and rolled about 10 feet. Woods’ short putt landed about a foot away, and the ball landed in the hole.

Hole 16, Par 4
Woods hits a 3-wood on the 426-yard 16th hole and keeps the ball low but it flies 200 yards into the left rough. Woods uses a second iron and drives into the greenside bunker on the left edge of the green. The bunker chip that Woods hits rolls five feet from the pin, and Woods hits a par putt.
