Ticket prices to see the New York Jets host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night have risen by nearly 50 percent after it emerged that Taylor Swift is scheduled to be there.
Reports surfaced Wednesday night that Swift will be at MetLife Stadium to see her rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce play for the Chiefs.
Now, according to TickPick, a lot of fans want to be there too.
In the 24 hours after news of Swift’s presence broke, the “entry” price of tickets on the resale site rose 43%, from $83 to $119.
TickPick also says that last Sunday’s game — where Swift made his first appearance to watch Kelce play, a 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears — saw the highest number of tickets sold for the Chiefs in a single day so far this season.
Sunday’s game in the Big Apple has seen ticket prices drop somewhat in the past two weeks.
The matchup was set to pit Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers against reigning Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes, but Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon in just the fourth snap of his first game with his new team.
Since then, the Jets have struggled with Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback, losing their last two games.
Meanwhile, Kelsey has remained relatively coy about what’s going on with Swift.
On his podcast, which he co-hosted with his brother Jason, of the Philadelphia Eagles, he said: “Shout out to Taylor to stop it.” That was very brave.
I thought it was great that everyone in the ward had nothing but great things to say about her. Friends and family. She looked amazing, and everyone was talking about her in a great light.
“On top of that, it was a perfect day for Chiefs fans of course. We’re all writing it, ladies and gentlemen. It was impressive.”
“To see the chest bumps in slow motion, to see the high-fives with my mom, to see how excited the Boss Kingdom was to be there, it was so hysterical, it was definitely a game I’ll remember,” Travis added, “Absolutely.” “And then we slid into the getaway car at the end.” ..
“Shout out to Taylor for coming out and seeing me rock the stage.”
