The Israeli military said it targeted Hezbollah “weapons storage facilities” in multiple airstrikes across Lebanon on Saturday.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that one of the raids on the outskirts of the town of Al-Kukh in the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate resulted in the injury of four people, including three children, adding that all the injured required treatment in the hospital.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that other raids targeted “empty shops” in the town of Sareen in Baalbek.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed carrying out strikes in the Bekaa and Baalbek regions, saying it targeted Hezbollah weapons storage facilities.

It added that it also struck Hezbollah weapons storage facilities in seven other areas of Lebanon in the south.

The strikes come after what the Israel Defense Forces described as a barrage of 55 shells fired from Lebanon into Israeli territory earlier Saturday morning. The IDF said the shells were targeting the Upper Galilee and Galilee areas.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah group said it had struck an Israeli military brigade headquarters in Yiftah Ilkit, northwest of the Sea of Galilee, with “dozens of Katyusha rockets.”

Hezbollah also claimed to have carried out several attacks on northern Israel throughout Saturday with rockets and drones targeting Israeli military sites, describing the attacks as “support for our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and their brave and honorable resistance.”

The Israeli-Lebanese border has witnessed an almost daily exchange of fire since the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza following the October 7 attack.
