Space Coast may see two Falcon 9 launch rockets in the coming days as the SpaceX teams prepare to launch the company’s next Starlink mission at the Kennedy Space Center — and the weather is looking good so far.
The first to arrive on Panel 39A is the 49th batch of Starlink internet satellites scheduled to fly between 10:40 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. ET on Friday, June 17. 80% “zap”.
“While a brief shower during the window cannot be ruled out like the East Coast sea
A breeze forms initially and migrates west, overall launch conditions look generally favorable on Friday.” Wed said. “The main concern is the cumulus cloud base.”
If the launch is delayed until Saturday, the weather is still 80% “going off” but conditions at sea to restore a drone ship from the first stage of the Falcon 9 from “low risk” to “moderate risk”.
The Starlink Internet Constellation It has launched more than 2,500 satellites since its first operational flight in 2019. Since its introduction, the cost of the Standard plan has risen from $99 to $110 per month but is available across an area of North America, Europe and Australia. SpaceX also recently announced a mobile internet suite for RV users.
SpaceX is also targeting Sunday, June 19, to launch another Falcon 9 from the nearby Cape Canaveral Space Force station. Packed in the missile payload exhibition will be a communications satellite for Global Staran American company that focuses on satellite services such as satellite phones, tracking devices, and more.
This mission is set in flight between 12:25 a.m. and 12:35 a.m. ET on Sunday. The Space Force said Thursday that conditions for that launch should be about 70% “take off.”
“The late-night timing of the initial and backup launch windows would benefit us with some improvement, as most thunderstorm activity should end, leaving nighttime cloud cover in its wake,” the forecasters said.
For viewers interested in watching in person, both launches will include Northeast trails. Neither will include local landings and will instead target drone ships, so don’t expect sonic penetration.
