Rumors are swirling that Rihanna is going out with Taylor Swift during the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The Barbados native heads up the much-anticipated performance at Super Bowl LVII, which will take place on February 12, 2023.
This will be Rihanna’s first time on stage since she performed at the Grammy Awards in 2018.
Super Bowl Halftime shows are known for their surprise guests, so speculation is growing that Rihanna has some guest actors up her sleeve.
Will Taylor Swift Perform With Rihanna at the Super Bowl Halftime Show?
There has been multiple evidence that Rihanna will be dating Swift during her show and fans are excited about the rumors.
Here are all the clues.
The trailer for Rihanna’s performance included a reference to Taylor Swift that fans believe is a clue to the guest performance.
Rihanna just dropped the trailer for her show Halftime, starting with the voiceover “It’s been 2,190 days.”
While it was previously assumed that this referred to Rihanna’s extended musical hiatus, the Swifties heard something different.
Avid Swift fans have noticed that the same number appeared in Swift’s song “Glitch”.
The song “Glitch” says, “It’s been 2,190 days since our love broke up.”
While the number may just be a coincidence, some fans believe that the combined use of 2,190 days is a hint that Swift will be joining Rihanna for her performance.
Taylor Swift was rumored to perform at the Super Bowl before Rihanna was confirmed.
Before Rihanna confirmed her upcoming September 2022 performance — Instagramming her tattooed hand holding a soccer ball — Swift was headlining.
Variety magazine reported that it was speculated that Swift would take over the performance now that Apple Music is the show’s official sponsor – It was Apple Music once The only streaming platform with Swift music.
The Apple Music sponsorship comes as Pepsi ends its 10-year run as Halftime Show sponsor. Given that Swift has a partnership with competitor Pepsi Coca-Cola, fans speculated that the change in sponsor would free up Swift to perform on the show.
Taylor Swift has used NFL games to promote her music before.
Posted on Twitter on October 20, 2022, Swift announced that she will be sharing the trailer for her album Midnights during the third quarter of Thursday Night Football.
In a video, Swift said, “If you tune in to Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime, I’m going to take a first look at the secret projects I’ve been working hard on for a very long time, ready for the Midnights album.”
She went on to say that fans will see the work, if they catch up on the game, “before the Midnights album comes out.”
Her new association with the NFL could mean she’s in the Super Bowl, too.
Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour will start in the same stadium as the Super Bowl.
Swift announced that she will be performing at 20 different NFL venues on her 27-year “Eras” tour.
The Eras Tour kicks off March 18, 2023 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The stadium, which is the home of the Arizona Cardinals, is the same venue where the Super Bowl was held just a month earlier.
Swift will hit other NFL stadiums for the tour, in cities including Detroit, Atlanta, Tampa, and Chicago.
She will finish off the US leg of the tour by performing two nights in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium.
Taylor Swift wrote a song for Rihanna.
The Super Bowl performance wouldn’t be possible without some kind of collaboration, right? Fortunately, Swift and Rihanna have worked together indirectly before.
While dating Calvin Harris, Swift collaborated with DJ on a song she wrote with Pseudonym Niels Sjöberg.
The 2016 track, “This Is What Came For,” ended up being a hit for Rihanna and Harris.
An under-the-radar collaboration could be yet another clue that the two pop stars might perform together at the Super Bowl.
