Woman Hospitalised After Crash on A259 Marine Parade
A woman has been taken to hospital with head injuries after being hit by a car on the A259 Marine Parade, near the junction with Rock Place.
The police were alerted around 5pm and the A259 was closed to allow an investigation to take place. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and later taken to hospital with head and leg injuries.
David Thorpe, 54, manager of hotel A Room With A View, said he saw paramedics treating a woman lying in the road. He said: “I first noticed something was wrong when I saw police lights.” “I saw lady on the floor being treated on the road, and they brought a stretcher out for her.”
Another witness stated the accident: “was shocking to see”.
A Sussex police spokesperson confirmed that the police had been called at 4:59pm after the collision, and that the woman had been taken to hospital with both head and leg injuries.
