Paramount is bringing dramatic changes to the world of Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone,” officially announcing a new series of TV sequels and ending the Kevin Costner-led original “Yellowstone” series after five seasons this fall.
A sequel to Sheridan’s still-untitled “Yellowstone” is set to premiere on the Paramount Network in December (and then air on Paramount Channel+), according to a Paramount statement released Friday. The cast of the new series has yet to be announced, but Chris McCarthy, a Paramount executive, previously told The Hollywood Reporter: Matthew McConaughey Lined up to appear in a new show.
In the announcement, MTV Entertainment Studios CEO Chris McCarthy said, “‘Yellowstone’ has been the cornerstone that we’ve launched an entire universe of worldwide success. I’m confident the ‘Yellowstone’ sequel will be another big hit.”
“The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic story,” David Glaser, CEO of 101 Studios, said in the release.
