Mystery buyer to win $2.9 million The lottery ticket is about to lose everything.
a Huge millions A ticket purchased in Los Angeles last year is set to expire at 5pm on Friday – meaning the yet-to-be-identified winner could leave $2,941,708 on the table if they don’t come forward.
The ticket holder must visit one of the nine California State Lottery offices by the deadline to claim their prize, or the ticket is no longer valid.
The ticket was purchased for the December 12 drawing of last year at the SK gas station at 11280 National Boulevard in Los Angeles.
The winning ticket matched the numbers 8, 23, 44, 45, and 53. The jackpot was lost by just one number – Mega 3.
The State Lottery urges all players to double-check any Mega Millions tickets they may have as soon as possible.
California Lottery rules state that any Mega Millions winner with five numbers has 180 days from the drawing date to claim their winnings.
If the claim is not filed, $2.9 million will go to California public schools.
