Tonight, Canadian indie rock band hailing from Quebec will be taking over The Joker. Forming in 2011, TOPS are now a prominent voice on the Canadian indie music scene. If you’re looking for a quirky way to perk your Monday up, this looks like the way to go…

Tuesday – Algiers @ Patterns
Algiers is an experimental band from Atlanta, Georgia. On Tuesday night they’ll be showcasing their diverse range of musical influences at none other than Brighton’s Patterns. With their sound previously being described as “dystopian soul”, you can expect afrofolk inspired vocals, emphasis on atonal textures and a (somewhat) sombre mood.

Wednesday – Kraftwerk @ Brighton Centre
Kraftwerk, a German electronic band formed in 1969 will be headlining the Brighton Centre this hump day! The band were among the first successful pop acts to popularize electronic music, thus making them pioneers and innovators of the genre.

Thursday – Code Orange @ The Haunt
This American hardcore punk band will be rocking The Haunt on the penultimate day of the week. Forming in Pittsburgh in 2008, since then Code Orange have released three studio albums. So this won’t be a night for the lighthearted but this one’s for you metalcore fans out there!

Friday – The Staves @ The Old Market
The Staves are an Enlgish folk rock hybrid consisting of a trio of sisters. After kickstarting their career through performances at open mic nights, they have since taken the UK by storm. Performing amongst big names such as Florence and The Machine and Bon Iver, the sisters have certainly made a name for themselves. They even had a spot at Glasto 2015, so you can expect good vibes all night long from this band.
