Marine Adventures, Beer Tasting Or A Festival! How To Spend Father’s Day In Brighton!
Get your calendars out and mark it in red! Sunday is Father’s Day! We know how hard it can be to come up with a good idea to celebrate this special day and to show our dads how important they are to us! We have done the hard part and looked for cool stuff to do this Father’s Day. Here is what we came up with! It’s up to you to turn them into reality!
Venture on a discovery of the marine world!
Get the whole family together and head down to Brighton’s Sea Life Centre. On Saturday and Sunday, dads get in for free! All you need to do is to quote Dad17 on the door and off you go on a discovery of the depths of the marine world. A perfect opportunity to check out Sea Life’s new exhibition “Claws”, including two huge Japanese spider crabs!
Not just for dads but for the whole family!
How about celebrating Father’s Day at a festival? Well, it happens that the annual Funk The Family Festival falls on the same day. With a diverse music lineup, loads of free workshops and family entertainment, Hove Park surely is a good place to head to this Sunday. Tickets are still available!
A beer stroll around town!
What do Dads generally like? Yeah, you got that right, it’s beer! So what better Father’s Day present would there be than taking him for a wander around Brighton making several stops on the way where he can taste all different sorts of lagers and ales? Although it’s taking place on Saturday, June 17th and not on Sunday, he will surely very much appreciate going on the Father’s Day Brighton Beer Tour.
Take him to a gig!
If it happens to be the case that your Dad is a fan of The Kinks, then he will be thrilled about this! Brighton Undercover, a collaboration of several Brighton-based musicians, will put the spotlight on songs of the famous English rock band as well as on the solo tracks of lead singer Ray Davies. Doors open at 7 pm on Sunday at the Hope and Ruin. Entry is £3.
Old but gold!
If all this doesn’t really appeal to you and you rather feel like doing something more quiet with your dad where it’s just you and him, then here is our last suggestion for you. Grab a couple of beers, an instant BBQ and some meat to throw on it and take him down to the beach for a Father’s Day barbecue!
Whatever you decide to do in the end, your Dad will definitely be happy about it!
