New Releases: The Week In Music
With so much music being released week after week, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to show you the best of the new releases in the music world. Read on to find out who’s impressed us with their newest hits this week…
Maya Jane Coles – Weak/Werk
Maya Jane Coles is a music producer, audio engineer and UK based DJ. She’s back with a duo of songs that are set to give you all the feels. Under her real name she focuses her energy on creating and playing mostly house music, with her alias Nocturnal Sunshine being dedicated to dubstep. That being said, there aren’t many house-infused vibes coming from her most recent release. The first of the two singles, Weak, is floaty and mellow with the second, Werk being more in keeping with the artist’s more traditional sound.
Tyler, The Creator – Flower Boy
Back with his much anticipated album, Tyler, The Creator has created yet another testament to his artistic skill with latest release, Flower Boy. As with much of his work, the album manages to balance soft and vulnerable melodies with more aggressive rap verses. Stand out songs include Garden Shed and 911/Mr. Lonely.
Lana Del Rey – Lust For Life
Two years since her last studio album was released, Lust For Life was highly anticipated by fans and critics alike. Lana returns with her iconic old-Hollywood vocals and momentum-building instrumentals. The album may not be quite as easy to love on first listen as the acclaimed Born To Die release was, but it definitely has potential.
Dizzee Rascal – Raskit
Iconic grime rapper Dizzee Rascal has made a return to Spotify playlists everywhere with his latest album, Raskit. His newest releases symbolises a return to his old school tunes, with songs such as Space resembling his previous work. So this album is definitely worth whether you’ve been a Dizzee fan for years or are just getting into him…
