Nick Cave Announces Tour Alongside Plans to Fight Ticket Touts
Brighton resident Nick Cave has announced an 8-week European tour alongside his band The Bad Seeds.
In an effort to fight exploitative touts Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are using Twickets as the official re-seller for all UK dates.
Twickets is a fan-to-fan ticket resale site that only sells tickets at face-value, protecting fans with a guarantee against fraud and overpricing.
The tour kicks off in the UK at Bournemouth’s International Centre on 24th September. The European shows follow dates across Australia (January 2017) and the USA (May & June 2017).
The tour will be the first time European have the opportunity to hear live songs from new album Skeleton Tree alongside other Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds classics (the band last toured Europe in 2014.)
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ eight piece touring line up features Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey, Thomas Wydler, Jim Sclavunos, Conway Savage, George Vjestica and Larry Mullins.
Tickets go on sale at 9.00am GMT on 17th February and are available from: nickcave.com.
Skeleton Tree, the 16th studio album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, was released in September 2016 the day after the premiere of One More Time With Feeling – the feature film directed by Andrew Dominik (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) about the making of the album.
The album gained the band their highest ever position in the UK charts, hitting the number 2 spot.
The band were recently nominated for a BRIT Award (2017) in the Best International Group category.
Nick Cave says: “We’ve been in a strange place, I’m coming out and blinking into the light… It’s good to be playing again.”
