Born Norman Bernard Joseph this British DJ came to prominence playing unlicensed “warehouse” parties in the 1980s. He is known for his diverse musical knowledge and refusal to adhere to any specific musical genre. He was awarded an MBE for his services to music in 2002.
Since 1995 Jay has released numerous mix compilations, such as Good Times, Giant 45 and most recently Skank & Boogie, released through the record labels Rob da Bank’s and Sunday Best.
Jay is well known for his Good Times carnival sound system event at Notting Hill Carnival that the Telegraph named: “a focus for a joyful, influential musical eclecticism and multicultural mingling, defining the event for many”.
Jay Felix is one of the most popular and well renowned DJs on the circuit today, JFelix co-founded the legendary Good Times Sound System and London dance music station KISS FM. Felix’ 2016 EP, ‘The Runaway’ was critically acclaimed:
