Police are searching for the driver of a white hatchback car which contributed to a three-car collision between 7:35am and 8:00am on Monday 19th February. The incident occurred on the A259 Grevatt’s Lane, near the Oyster Catcher pub, in Climping.
The white hatchback crashed into a silver Volkswagen Take Up, which was being driven by a 17-year-old boy from Bognor Regis. This caused the Volkswagen to collide with a grey Chrysler 300C, driven by a 23-year-old man from Middleton, Hampshire. All the vehicles involved were travelling east in the same direction.
No injuries were sustained apart from by the Chrysler driver. He suffered back injuries and was treated for these at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester. He was later permitted to return home.
The number of vehicle collisions recorded in Brighton appears to have remained relatively stable in the last 5 years, with 738 collisions recorded in 2013, and 779 recorded in 2016. There have been no large fluctuations in the rates of fatalities or less severe, minor injuries.
