Not many tribute bands get invited on stage to perform with their heroes; and NEVER with one of the biggest rock bands in the world.
UK Foo Fighters Tribute frontman ‘Jay Apperley’ made history in September 2014 at Brighton’s Concorde 2 when he was personally asked on stage by none other than ‘Dave Grohl’ himself to perform ‘White Limo’ with the actual Foo Fighters!
Friday – BEATABET SEASON #2 @The Rose Hill
The second event in the second Beatabet season of performances at The Rose Hill…!!
The mighty Official Burnt Toast, leftfield candian hip-hop veterans spit lyrics over jazz-infused drum patterns. Feel good extraodinaire.
Main support from Howlround: mesmerising live tape manipulations, using the entire space to run loops of tape which feed back on each other. A warm analogue aural bath. First coming to prominence with hugely-acclaimed 2012 LP The Ghosts Of Bush, Howlround create recordings and performances entirely from manipulating natural acoustic sounds on vintage reel-to-reel tape machines, with additional reverb or electronic effects strictly forbidden – a process that has seen their work compared to William Basinski, Philip Jeck, Morton Feldman and even the sculptures of Rachel Whiteread’
SkpeSong. An acapella kurdish song performed by Mizgina live from Germany.
David McWizard may or may not make an appearance.

Saturday – GOOD POP BAD POP @Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar
What is pop music you may ask… well it’s music that is popular right? Well yes and no. Pop music is music that makes you feel good. There’s terrible pop (Boyzone Bieber) that kinda thing… we don’t play that. The good pop bad pop thing is just a matter of opinion…
Sometimes bad pop can be the best. You know what we mean. All the songs you’d forgotten you loved. All the songs you can sing the wrong words to. Three minute nougats of joy and pain. YOU GOT IT!!!
