Friday 27th October:

Murder Mystery Evening @ East Sussex National Hotel

Have you always fancied yourself as a bit of a Miss Marple or Columbo? Now is your chance to prove it; enjoy an evening of Murder Mystery and suspense in the ultimate who-done-it at East Sussex National. Enjoy an arrival drink and 3 course dinner, participate in the Murder Mystery and solver the crime, and unwind and dance the night away at the disco.

Dad Dancing @ Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts

Could anyone ever persuade you to take your dance moves to the stage? Meet three brave dads who agreed to dance with their daughters. Through a series of touching episodes, they explore father-child relationships with dance, humour and playful storytelling. Joined by a supporting cast of father-figures, sons and daughters of all ages, they fearlessly slip and slide their way through their similarities and differences, hopes and regrets, to a joyful and eclectic soundtrack. Reclaiming ‘dad dancing’ from the cynics, this dynamic group of performers encourage us all to dance our own dance with joy.

Indigo Club // October @ Latest Music Bar

A cabaret evening featuring Clare Summerskill,  an established and much-loved writer and comedienne, will be performing an original cocktail of stand-up and comedy songs, Jane Postlethwaite, the multi-award comedy finalist character comedian, writer and actor with more of her dark Cumbrian humour, and Qukulele, Brighton’s leading all-female 9-piece ukulele band.

Magic at the Manor @ Preston Manor

Romany, Diva of Magic, presents an opulent evening of vintage illusion wrapped up in her trademark eccentric dry wit. Romany has won the Las Vegas World Magic Seminar Gold Lion Award, The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year and the International Brotherhood of Magicians Stage Magician of the Year.

She tours the world with her headline stage act and has appeared on ITV’s Fool Us. Described as glamorous, charming and deliciously entertaining this is a night not to be missed!

Rejoining Jane is a delightful immersive experience set in a cafe, which premiered at Brighton Fringe Festival this Spring. The audience are invited to eavesdrop on a book group’s monthly meet-up, discussing their latest read Rejoining Jane. The three dancers and the audience find themselves diving in and out of Jane’s turbulent adventure, all within the confines of a cosy cafe. Together they delve into her story, travelling from Bromley to Papua New Guinea (via Ibiza!) with various escapades and secrets that unfold along the way. ‘A wonderful adventure through the roads that could be travelled, bursting with imagination and humour.’

The Lucky Horror Show @ Lucky Voice

Halloween weekend is fast approaching and Lucky Voice are bringing the ultimate theme to make it the best yet, The Lucky Horror Show! From Friday the 27th – Tuesday 31st October they are creating the most nostalgic event full of Frank ‘n’ Furter costumes, Time Warp cocktails and all the Rocky Horror singing you can imagine in our Brighton venue. Raising essential funds for the Brighton & Hove charity the black-tie dress code will take on a subtly spooky twist with ladies in beautiful gowns and dapper chaps stylishly celebrating all Hallows’ Eve. Halloween Fright Flights @ British Airways i360 

Walk on air with the ghosts of Brighton this Halloween. Once the flight departs, there’s no turning back… Brighton & Hove wasn’t always such a picturesque place – every so often, reminders of its past come creeping out of the underworld. Join actors and story tellers from spook-specialists ‘Ghost Walk of the Lanes’ for a ghoulish flight above Brighton & Hove in the British Airways i360 pod. Your blood will run cold as you hear chilling tales of the hideous apparitions that haunt the backstreets, buildings and beaches below. There will be shows suitable only for adults alongside earlier showings where children are welcome.

Halloween Street Party @ Lion & Lobster 

We are having our 1st ever Halloween Street party and we would love you all to join us!!! We will be having some of our top bands playing including The Cracklin Griffins, The Speak, Express and Dezzie & Kate! Hog roast and Paella, Mulled Wine & Mulled Cider, some of Dark Star’s spookiest best and of course lot’s of fun and games. Not to be missed! Street will close until 8pm and then more shenanigans inside. Food: Hog roast, paella and full A la carte & specials inside, Bands: The Cracklin Griffins, The Speak, Express, Dezzie & Kate, Extra’s; Apple Bobbing, Mulled wine, Mulled Cider, Fancy Dress competition.

Howl-O-Ween Brighton 2017 @ Hove Park

Calling all dog lovers. Howl 0 Ween Brighton is a major dog event in Sussex focused on achieving a Guinness World Record for the most dogs in Bandanas and the fastest time for a dog to catch 10 items. With 2,000 dogs expected from around the UK and Europe and 5,000 loving owners, it’s a chance to showcase your canine designs and brands. The festival is being organised in partnership with the Dogs Trust and proceeds £1 will be donated to the trust for every ticket purchased.  Sizzlin’ Steve from CBBC’s Officially Amazing will be attempting a Guinness World Record at this Saturday’s Howl-O-Ween event at Hove Park, Brighton. He will be taking up the challenge of ‘fastest time a dog can catch 10 items’. The record is currently held by Hagrid the dog from ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. Hagrid achieved the challenge in 14.76 seconds

Virtual Reality Horror Pop-Up @ Popup LAB

Brace yourself for a skin-crawling, reality-twisting take over. This Halloween weekend, we’re unlocking the gates to hidden dimensions teeming with the most blood curling creatures. Enter if you dare, these are horrors only the bravest of mortals can bare… The daytime event – Horror VR arcade – runs over Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm, with tickets fgoing for £7. Select the time slot you want to visit the Virtual Reality Horror Popup and play from a selection of spine-chilling VR horror games on the Oculus Rift. Tickets per time slot are limited to make sure you have plenty of time to play all the VR experiences available. There is a huge variety of games to scare you including on in which you make your way through an abandoned hospital lurking with supernatural threats in an indie horror survival title from the Thailand-based Mad Virtual Reality Studio. Seek the truth behind a mysterious murder that haunts this eerie place. Spooky!

Walk of the Dead @ Brighton Palace Pier 

The Brighton zombie walk is back … but this time on Brighton Palace Pier! Put on your best zombie make-up and meet on the forecourt of Brighton Palace Pier at 1pm on 28th October 2017 to crawl, groan and drag yourself up Brighton Palace Pier. Not a fan of dressing up? Not a problem, sit back and relax with a Palm Court lunch as the zombie hoards stagger past the windows! The zombie walk will stagger up the west side of the pier, encircle the top – leaving enough time to get plenty of photos outside the Horror Hotel – and stagger back down the east side finishing on the forecourt. If you are interested in attending as a zombie then you will need to register, so make sure you are quick to register to grab yourself a place as there are only 3000 places available. Everyone who registers will receive a voucher for a half-price wristband.
