The 2023 Tony Award nominations were announced Tuesday by actress Lea Michele, who is currently on Broadway’s “Funny Girl,” and Miles Frost, who won the 2022 Tony Award for his role as Michael Jackson in the Broadway musical “MJ.” Some classes were read live on CBS at 8:30 a.m. ET; Others were revealed through a live broadcast at the Tony Awards YouTube page.

A total of 38 shows were vying for Tony nominations this year. To be eligible, a Broadway show must open between April 29, 2022 and April 27, 2023. This year’s awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, June 11.

“Some Like It Hot,” a Broadway musical version of a Billy Wilder movie, has the most nominations of any show, with 13. The musicals “And Juliet,” “New York, New York,” and “Shaked” each followed with nine nominations. “Killing Eve” TV star Jodie Comer, who has never appeared on stage before, received a Best Actress nomination in a play, “Prima Facie.” And Justin Cooley, a 19-year-old actor from Kansas, earned a nomination for his Broadway debut in “Kimberly Akimbo.” Below is a complete list of nominees.
