Lionel Richie fans ‘disappointed’ at King Charles coronation

Fans were disappointed “All Night Long”.

Viewers of King Charles’ coronation slammed Lionel Richie for his lackluster performance as the new monarch on Sunday.

Richie, 73, took the stage in front of 20,000 people and performed his greatest hits like “All Night Long” — which rose to fame from the Alabama native in 1983 — and “Easy,” which Richie sang with the Commodores in 1977.

Many frustrated Twitter users likened Richie’s voice to that of Kermit the Frog or a karaoke singer at a bar.

“Hey, Met Police, I’d like to report a killer. Yes, his name is Lionel Richie and the victim has his own song.” chirp One angry viewer.

“If anyone finds some lost keys in Windsor, it’s Lionel Richie’s.” teased last.

Simply “Lionel Richie looks awful” advertiser third person.

“Well, is it just me or has Lionel Richie lost the ability to sing?” chirp Fourth person. “It doesn’t look like him at all.”

Other Twitter users defended the singer and blamed the problems on the audio equipment.

“The sound of the master mic is horrible to anyone who uses it,” defend 1 user.

The Post has reached out to Richie for comment.

Richie wasn’t the only dignitary in attendance. “American Idol” co-judge Katy Perry also appeared on stage performing some of her songs afterward.

The musical celebration came just one day after the coronation, which took place on Saturday 6 May at Westminster Abbey.

It marked a formal transfer of power from the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September at the age of 96.

Prince Harry was also present at his father’s ascension to the throne, the first time the monarch has returned to the UK since the January release of his magnum opus Spear.

The Duke of Sussex attended the ceremony without his wife, Megan Markle, and returned on a plane to Los Angeles, moments after the conclusion of the coronation ceremony.

Spent less than 24 hours in the UK.
