American Pickers come to Vermont in August to hunt for antiques.

The hosts of the History Channel’s American Pickers—Mike Wolfe and his brother Robbie—return to Vermont in August to hunt for antique treasures, filming at least one episode of the popular show that kicked off in 2010.

American Pickers came to Vermont in 2016, 2018, and 2020 to shoot episodes as well. Producer Meredith Ball said Thursday that the Wolf brothers have spent years traveling across the United States in search of one-of-a-kind artifacts, dating back to before the show was even created on the History Channel.

“Their goal is not only to dive into the history of items and collectors, but also to buy items,” said Paul.

If the collector agrees to the sale, the Wolf brothers may keep the item for their private collection, or they may resell it at one of two antique stores, in Le Claire, Iowa, which opened in 2000, and Nashville, Tennessee, which opened in 2011. .

Private antique collections only please, no flea markets

The Wolf brothers don’t frequent antique stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses, or “anything open to the public,” but they focus strictly on private collections, according to Paul.

With that in mind, American Pickers is looking to find the most historically significant or rare antiques hiding in private hands in Vermont.

“We’re looking for leads across the state, specifically interesting characters with cool elements,” said Paul. “The way we find people and groups for our show is by spreading the word far and wide so people know we’re coming to town.”
