The PlayStation Portal launched today, but fans are having a hard time finding it

PlayStation Portal, the portable device that lets you play your favorite PS5 games via Remote Play, is available today. But unless you pre-order one, you’ll likely have a hard time purchasing it.

The device, previously codenamed Project Q, retails for $200 for the sole purpose of using a Wi-Fi connection to stream games from your PS5. When checking out the listing on PlayStation Direct, a note from Sony states that those looking to purchase PlayStation Portal should “check back in early December,” as shown in the screenshot image below.

PlayStation is advising fans to check its website again in early December to restock updates.

I didn’t realize but I recently discovered that the reason PlayStation Portal is out of stock everywhere is because of scalpers.

Some have pointed out that the PlayStation Portal’s short supply reflects the PS5 storage issues Sony has been experiencing for nearly three years. The console was difficult to find at launch (and the many months after), with third-party retailers restocking it but selling out immediately.
