Tiger Woods, after parting ways with Nike, announces a new “Sun Day Red” line with TaylorMade

Tiger Woods is back in action this week, and he's finally revealed his new clothing company.

Woods officially announced the “Sun Day Red” clothing line with TaylorMade on Monday in Los Angeles. The line will feature apparel and footwear with a new tiger logo that is different from his old “TW” brand logo. It is scheduled to be officially launched on May 1.

The announcement comes days before Woods returns to the course at the Genesis Invitational, which will be his first tournament on the Tour since withdrawing from the Masters last April.

Woods announced last month on social media that he and Nike were ending their partnership after 27 years. Woods first signed with Nike in 1996, and quickly became one of the apparel giant's most prominent faces. His “Sunday Red” look — which he began wearing in the final round of every tournament because his mother, Kultida, told him it was a strong color — became one of the most iconic colors in all of sports.

Woods last wore Nike competing in the PNC Championship in December, which he played alongside his son Charlie. His last contract with Nike was reportedly a 10-year, $200 million deal signed in 2013.

Woods pulled out of last year's Masters immediately after making the cut and didn't play much at all the rest of the year. He's competed in the unofficial Hero World Challenge and in the PNC Championship with Charlie, but this week marks his first real test on Tour. The Genesis Invitational is the third dedicated event of the Tour season and features a 70-player field and a lineup that includes the top 50 players, ties and anyone within 10 shots of the lead.

Woods said he hopes to play in about one tournament a month, depending on his health. He underwent surgery on his right ankle after last year's Masters, which marked the latest in a long list of injuries, and has spent most of 2023 recovering.

Now that he has a new contract and appears to be relatively healthy again, Woods' comeback is officially underway.
