Ohio State is in pole position for its fifth straight Big Ten title on Saturday, but Indiana and Michigan are in close pursuit.

The Hoosiers and Wolverines remain within striking distance heading into the final session this evening, thanks in large part to the Buckeyes being eliminated from the 200 free relay on Friday night.

Today's schedule includes finals in the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 10-meter springboard diving, and 400 freestyle relay.

Indiana Junior Qing Hui Gan She was more than six seconds off the NCAA lead with a time of 15:48.70 from November, but her performance was still good enough to secure a comfortable win for the 1,650 free title in 15:54.83.

Gunn held off the Wisconsin State freshman Maddie Wagner (15:57.36), which shaved more than four seconds off her previous best of 16:01.98 en route to a second-place finish. It now ranks eighth in the NCAA this season. Wagoner is joined by three other Badgers in the top eight: juniors Paige McKenna (15:59.84), senior Alivia lindorfer (16:04.88), senior Elle Brown (16:08.59). McKenna reached 15:54.95 this season at the Texas Invitational in November.

Indiana Junior Maria Dinnigan He recorded the fastest time in the slower heats with a time of 15:59.66, and ended up third overall behind Jahn and Wagoner.

The most impressive time drop in this race came courtesy of the Nebraska sophomore Jenna Jorgenson, who shaved off her best by nearly 12 seconds to take fifth place with a time of 16:01.72. Her previous best was 16:13.34 from last year's NCAAs, where she placed 28th. Jorgenson's time tonight would have placed 14th in the scoring range.

Ohio State Senior Maya Gehringer She finished sixth with a time of 16:03.63, more than seven seconds slower than her personal best of 15:56.28 from the Ohio State Invitational in November.

Wisconsin senior Phoebe Bacon She captured her third Big Ten title in the 200 meters with a winning time of 1:50.05, reclaiming her crown after a one-year hiatus.

This race was a bit of a blowout as Bacon beat Northwestern in year five Ella Spitz (1:52.37) by more than two seconds and took third place Christa Marlene Ohio State (1:54.31) by more than four seconds. Spitz set her best of the day for the second time ever, lowering her previous best of 1:52.77 from the front by four-tenths of a second. Before today, Cal's transfer's best time was 1:53.21 from the 2021 Pac-12 Championships.

Ohio State sophomore Christa Marlene He added a few tenths from the heats (1:53.94) but still managed to finish third with a time of 1:54.31. Her teammate, fifth year Morgan Krauseboosted the Buckeyes' point total with a sixth-place finish with a time of 1:55.65.

In between them were a pair of Indiana, sophomore swimmers Mia DeWitt (1:54.62) and seniors Anna Farid (1:54.80), which helped keep the Hoosiers in the hunt. Indiana Junior Anna PeplowskiHer time from the preliminary heats (47.45) would have won her the 100 free title tonight, but she wasn't quite able to replicate the same pace this evening.

Instead, Ohio State is a fifth-year senior Amy Vollmer She shot a season's best of 47.48 to defend her Big Ten crown by just 0.05 seconds over Peplowski (47.53).

It was an exciting race, as were the four other swimmers – the Indiana sophomore Christina Bagel (47.65), student at Michigan Stephanie Balduccini (47.77), an Ohio State senior Kitkat Zenic (47.92) and Michigan Junior Lindsay Flynn (47.98) – She was half a second away from Vollmer's winning time.

Paegle set another personal best, taking a few tenths off her previous best of 47.96 from November. She is now ranked 11th in the NCAA this season.

Indiana Junior Brianna Crawford She regained her title in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:07.25 seconds, more than a second faster than the fifth-place finisher in this morning's qualifier, Ohio State. Josie Panitz (2:08.59). Crawford ran a personal best of 2:06.86 to win the 2022 championship before finishing sixth last year (2:09.65).

Wisconsin is a sophomore Hazal Ozkan She shaved a few tenths off her lifetime best en route to a third-place finish in 2:09.16. Her previous best was 2:09.37 from November.

Michigan is a sophomore Katie Crum She captured her second individual title this week by winning the 200 fly with a time of 1:54.61. That was a new season's best by more than two seconds, but still a bit off her personal best of 1:53.94 from last February. Crum also triumphed in the 500 freestyle (4:37.24) on Thursday night.

Minnesota senior Megan Van Berkumthe top qualifier in this morning's preliminaries, reached the wall about a second behind Crum in 1:55.63.

Michigan student Hannah Bellard Two Wolverines made it into the top three with a third-place finish in 1:55.72. She still owns the best time in the conference this season at 1:53.21 from November's Georgia Invitational.

Ohio State Senior Kira Somerstad He dropped nearly a second on his way to fourth place with a time of 1:56.39. Her previous best was 1:57.30 from 2022.

Indiana Junior Skyler Liu She won her second individual title this week on the 10-meter platform with a score of 342.4, adding to her 3-meter title (379.95) on Friday night.

Minnesota is a sophomore Vivi del Angel He was right behind Leo and finished second in 342, half a point away from victory. She finished third last year as a freshman with 307.25 points before finishing third at the NCAAs (344.55).

Bordeaux scored big points in this event among third place finishers Darren Wright (318.1) fourth place Maisie Vita (299.8) and sixth place Jay Patrick (298.2).

Ohio State Senior Ciara McGing She rebounded with a fifth-place attempt after a nagging ankle injury kept her out of the 3-meter competition on Friday.

Heading into the final race of the meet, Ohio State has just a 1.5-point lead over Indiana.

The meet came to a thrilling conclusion in the 400 free relay, where Indiana State (3:11.37) couldn't beat Michigan (3:11.21) — but the Hoosiers did beat Ohio State to clinch the Big Ten title by just 0.5 points, snapping a winning streak The Buckeyes' four-year run in this meet.

Indiana trailed Ohio State until the last anchor leg as a sophomore Christina Bagel He had a 46.65 split — the fastest in the field — to rally the Hoosiers past the Buckeyes for the team's overall victory.
